Our story
Our co-founder, Jarah, grew up in Fresno, California, a city dependent on hourly work that has one of the highest concentrations of poverty in the US. Through her first hourly jobs, she experienced first-hand the challenges that workers face, and she knew things could be better.So Jarah decided to build WorkWhile with a worker-first mentality to help the 83 million Americans working hourly jobs and to provide them with more meaningful and flexible opportunities.

The U.S. contingent labor market is plagued by unpredictability, outdated technology, and low visibility into outcomes. Businesses face high churn and absenteeism, while workers want to work, but also need more flexibility in choosing when and how they work.
